BFCC Community Sharing Shed - Now Open!

46

Beacon Falls Congregational Church is thrilled to announce the opening of the Community Sharing Shed this week.

  • Thank  you to Beacon Hose Company No. 1 for the donation of the shed  and their continued support in our ministry of community outreach.
  • We also thank Todd from the Beacon Falls Community Garden who has planted vegetables designated for the Community Sharing Shed.
What is the Community Sharing Shed?

The  Community Sharing Shed is a place that will house a variety of  non-perishable items and some produce. (We hope to add refrigeration at a  later date.)

  • Members of the community who need some assistance can stop by and pick up items they need.
  • The  Community Sharing Shed is currently located in the parking lot of the  Beacon Falls Congregational Church at 69 Wolfe Avenue and will have an  open flag out when open for donations or pick up.
  • In addition, members of the community can drop off donations to help stock the Sharing Shed.
  • The Sharing Shed summer hours are 8:30AM to 7PM daily.
  • The Sharing Shed will be run on the honor system to allow patrons privacy.
  • The  Sharing Shed is a registered participant in the Little Free Pantry  Movement which is a grassroots, crowd sourced solution to administer  to immediate and local need. Littlefreepantry.org
This  program does not take the place of the wonderful work administered by  St. Michaels and the Beacon Falls Food Bank or the perishable food  program administered by Beacon Falls Congregational Church.  The Sharing  Shed is to work in tandem with these existing programs to offer more  options to our community.
