Join Spoken Word Poet MayaRose for a Writing Master Class at the WPL!
Come express yourself and explore diversity through creative writing. Diversity is a core thread to all our humanity and the written word unites the soul with the outside world.
Spoken Word is an easy and accessible medium to use your voice to talk about challenging issues that we face in our time and throughout history. It is a great way to release stress and a therapeutic tool in discovering who you are.
This master class uses beginner, intermediate and advanced writing prompts, meditation and movement games to connect you with the creative brain. Search through historic events, people and materials that call us into a deeper understanding of our American culture and the experiences that shapes our community and the world.
A writing circle brings writers from different walks of life together in one place to discuss their work in a workshop style setting. You will be able to give feedback and hear suggestions from fellow writers. Any genre of writing (creative prose, poetry, etc.) is encouraged to attend.

This program will be followed by an OPEN MIC night; stay and share your work or listen to other writers!
