Join Historian and author John Cilio for a look at some of CT's amazing history as told through its landmarks!
Connecticut was one of the original 13 colonies and the fifth colony to become a state in 1788. Our early residents helped form the key documents of our democracy and helped to win the revolution. Our legendary history has imprinted the state with three centuries of fascinating physical landmarks. Commemorating our history, the state hosts 60 National Landmarks and dozens of state landmarks covering a variety of venues. You'll hear some of the stories behind these distinctive sites and learn a little more about how these landmarks help make Connecticut special.
John Cilio has been telling the stories of history for over a decade. He is a skilled historian having published seven historical books ranging from women working in WWII and their impact on today's business world to vintage helicopters. Nickolai Sikorsky wrote the foreword to his Helicopter Evolution book and Prince William was kind enough to write a letter about his copy of the book. He is an honorary member of the Danbury, Connecticut WWII Lost Squadron Veterans organization.
John hails from a career in IBM corporate marketing and has spoken to large and small audiences in over 60 countries around the world. He lives in Sherman, Connecticut.
